Patellofemoral Knee Replacement works well in patients with arthritis isolated to the back side of the kneecap and the groove on the end of the thigh bone where it glides.
This, too, has excellent outcomes in a select group of patients. It has been proven to restore function and decrease pain in several long-term studies. It is performed through a tissue-sparing small incision and typically requires only an overnight stay in the hospital.
